Another name - Cal Ripken Jr. - to add to our honor roll of pro athletes who speak out about over-the-top parents. Note the caution about cheering too much. It's a point well taken. As adults, we're doing the most at a sports game when we're doing the least.

I really like the notion of parents cheering modestly and allowing the focus of the game to be on the kids. I try to encourage the parents of my players to cheer and avoid instruction. It's tough for the kids to have so many streams of incoming feedback and stimuli during a game. It takes their focus away from the game.
